Dancing With Your Shadow - An Introduction to the Transformational Practice of Authentic Movement

Authentic Movement.jpg

Join Facilitator, Witness, EmpowerMentor group member Charlie Birch to experience first hand the deep and meaningful benefits of Authentic Movement.

About Authentic Movement:

Carl Jung believed that the body IS the unconscious mind. Authentic Movement is a body centered depth psychology practice developed by Jungian Dance/Movement Therapist Janet Adler. Authentic Movement is a simple yet powerful ritualized movement form requiring only the presence of at least one Mover (but often many movers) and one Witness.

The practice offers a refreshing opportunity to feel truly seen and heard not only by the Witness, but by ourselves. Movers are invited to take pause and listen to what the body has to say - to be moved - and in so doing dance with the Shadow self. In these rare moments of practice we reconnect with or discover for the first time parts of ourselves that have the power to transform our whole way of being.

*** As an entirely self directed form, Authentic Movement is safe and accessible to ALL levels of mover. Stillness is also welcome.

*** This is therapeutic, but is not therapy.
